Not All Heritage Plaques Are Blue.

Blue plaques are installed on buildings to commemorate a permanent historical link between that building and a famous person, event or former building that was used on that site.
Blue plaque schemes are run by many councils around the UK.
We are often asked whether our Blue plaques can be finished in other colours. Our answer is a resounding yes.
We can finish our plaques in any colour but the most popular colours for building plaques are green, brown and red.
Green plaque schemes have been initiated by Wandsworth and Leicester Councils in past years and are put in place to commemorate famous people and places.

Red plaques were commissioned by the transport industry but have also recently been placed onto buildings.
Many plaques are commissioned as award or recognition plaques also, as a sign of respect for honourable work or other notable achievements.
These plaques are often awarded at ceremonies, retirement or events where acknowledgement of talent or effort is being commemorated with a permanent reminder to be placed into the workplace, building or home.
Any wording layout, company logo, family emblem or crest can be added to the plaques. Each one is carefully crafted to suit each individual or company and commemorate their success.
