How We Created Solid Bronze Letters

Last summer we were asked if it was possible to cast solid bronze letters that could be left hollow in order to backlight when placed in situ at the entrance of a new housing development.

Each letter needed a hand carved pattern and then each casting had to be carefully polished.

In order to polish each cast letter, a wooden template was made to keep the letters as flat as possible.

Once the letters have been in situ for a while it is expected that they will naturally patinate with the effects of the weather.

Each letter was carefully fixed along the entrance wall to create a stunning one of a kind sign.
